5 THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER FLUSH DOWN YOUR TOILET.

Emergency Toilet Overflows

Many people consider the toilet as trash, which is a concern. Flushing the incorrect stuff down the toilet may cause blockages, costly plumbing repairs, and environmental harm. This is why the best thing to do is to keep the extra waste out of the toilet. Here are five items that you should never flush down the toilet.

THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER FLUSH DOWN YOUR TOILET

1. Wet wipes and disposable diapers.

Wet wipes, including ones labelled as “flushable,” do not degrade like toilet paper. They can cause major obstructions in your pipes and sewage system. Instead of flushing, discard wipes in the garbage. Flushing diapers is a typical source of significant pipe obstructions that specialists, such as Near Plumber, must remove.

2. Hygiene Products and Women’s Hair

Hygiene products are designed to absorb moisture, not break down in water. Flushing these items can lead to severe blockages and plumbing issues. Hair may quickly clog your bathroom sink and bathtub drain. Because hair is continually falling off our heads and combined with soap scum, blockages occur regularly. The error occurs when individuals remove the blockage of hair from one of these areas and flush it down the toilet. Hair should be disposed of in the trash, never through the pipes!

3. Dental Floss

This substance can create a big problem for your pipes. Dental Floss is stringy does not rapidly dissolve and sits in your pipes. This floss can become entangled with other tiny items, resulting in a greater obstruction. Always be careful and make sure those substances stay in the trash.

4. Paper towels and tissues.

Paper towels and tissues may appear similar to toilet paper, but they are considerably thicker and do not dissolve quickly in water. Flushing them may cause obstructions in your plumbing system. To prevent complications, dispose of these objects in the garbage.

5. Cooking Grease and Oil.

Pouring frying fat and oil down the toilet might have significant consequences. These compounds harden when they cool, causing obstructions in your pipes. Let the grease cool before disposing of it in a sealed container in the garbage.

These items and a lot more do not belong down your toilet. Be careful with your household flushing rules and allow nothing to go down to your toilet cause you need to prepare yourself for other problems then.  If, for some reason, you do end up with a bad clog, and you live in Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, or surrounding areas, call Near Plumbers (0786 878 5055)
